About the Event

Considering a career in the financial services industry? Don’t have much background in finance but want to learn more? Hear from 4 female professionals in finance who have walked the walk. Hally Nguyen (Investment Banking Associate at MUFG Bank), Karen Knight (Marketing Director at Invesco and former investment analyst), Lauren Smith (Senior member of wealth advisory team at Congress Wealth Management), and Preyna Khemlani (Chartered Accountant and Manager at Coca-Cola European Partners) will be sharing their journeys to finance, their various professional experiences, challenges they’ve faced as women in the workplace, as well as valuable career and life advice. This event is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the financial services industry and to connect with female leaders in the space.

Meet Our Panelists

Hally Nguyen

Hally is an Investment Banking Associate at MUFG Bank in London. Prior to joining MUFG, Hally worked for a boutique investment bank after completing graduate programs at Citigroup and Credit Suisse. Outside of banking, Hally voices support for care leavers and social mobility through higher education. She is also a strong advocate for mentorship, and works with charities to guide young people towards a successful career in finance. Hally read Economics and Economic History at Royal Holloway, University of London and at the LSE respectively.

Karen Knight

Karen Knight is a marketing director for Investo, a global financial institution, where she leads the initiatives for their advisor-sold educational savings 529 plan. Karen has a wide range of experiences within the financial services industry and has held roles ranging from analytics to marketing. She is also a mother of two on a journey to find the imperfectly perfect balance of work and life. In her free time, she considers herself an encourager of women and enjoys sharing actionable advice and strategy to uplift other women working towards their dreams in and out of corporate America.

Lauren Smith

Lauren Smith is a senior member on the wealth advisory team at Congress Wealth, a Boston based Registered Investment Advisor serving ultra high-net worth individuals. Prior to joining Congress, she worked as a senior member of the Private Client Group at SCS Financial, and began her financial services career as a member of the client service team at Adviser Investments. With 8 years of experience in the industry, Lauren has developed a passion for working with families and helping them achieve their financial goals. Lauren received her bachelor's degree from Fairfield University in CT and is currently working towards her CFP designation and enrolled in Boston University's Certified Financial Planning program. .

Prerna Khemlani

Prerna is a Spindian (Spain-born Indian) living in London. She is currently a manager at Coca-Cola European Partners. Prerna founded This Girl Invests, a social media platform with the mission to demystify personal finance. Prerna has been the finance expert for Glamour UK, blogged for Pensionbee, given talks to university students across the UK and the US, and has hosted events for Roche and Found & Flourish. She draws from experience working with Investment Managers & Private Equity Clients as well as Publicly listed companies. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 2018.
